YOUR INSTRUCTORS
Alan Schaller
Based between London and Paris, Alan Schaller specializes in black-and-white photography.
Often abstract, his images contain elements of surrealism as well as geometry and are characterized by high contrasts. His work always illuminates the realities and diversities of human life.
Schaller's photographs are exhibited worldwide and published in The Guardian, The New York Times and The Independent, among others. He is an ambassador for Leica cameras and co-founder of the Street Photography International Collective.

Éléonore Simon
A French-American photographer, Éléonore Simon lives in Paris where she works for the French photography magazine revue EPIC as a journalist and photo editor.
Working mainly in black-and-white, Éléonore’s photographs favor unexpected angles, deep shadow play and graphic elements. It's an aesthetic that deliberately adds layers of ambiguity and mystery to everyday moments.
Her work has been exhibited worldwide and has received multiple awards. A member of the international street photography collective UP Photographers, Éléonore is also a regular guest, judge and portfolio reviewer at international photography festivals (Miami Street Photography Festival, Street Week in LA, Basquedok Festival, Rencontres Photographiques de Boulogne-Billancourt...).

OUR SCHEDULE
Saturday November 4th
10 am - 5pm
Morning
The workshop kicks off with a presentation by Alan and Éléonore who share insights, experiences, and techniques honed over years of capturing the essence of urban life across the globe.
Afternoon
Armed with newfound tips, embark on a thrilling afternoon of hands-on street photography. Led by Alan and Éléonore, the group roams through the iconic streets of Paris, each instructor offering their unique perspective on the same dynamic environments. This hands-on experience allows participants to apply the techniques discussed earlier, with real-time guidance and feedback.
Sunday November 5th
10 am - 5pm
Morning
On day two, the workshop splits into two groups, each accompanied by one of the instructors. By providing an intimate and focused learning experience, participants can delve deeper into Alan and Éléonore’s specific styles and approaches.
Afternoon
After reconvening for lunch, participants switch instructors in the afternoon, offering a fresh perspective and a new set of techniques to explore. This encourages participants to adapt, grow, and push the boundaries of their street photography capabilities.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Eligibility:
A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under 18 for the entire journey.
Included in the City of Lights workshop price: Guidance by instructors Alan Schaller and Éléonore Simon (hereafter referred to as “The instructors”).
Not included in the workshop cost: Meals, drinks, equipment, and accommodation.
Payment, cancellation and refunds:
To book a place on a workshop, full payment is required upon registration. If you are no longer able or choose not to attend your chosen workshop, the following refund policy will apply :
More than 45 days prior to the beginning of the workshop: 100% refund less a €50 admin fee.
Less than 45 days prior to the workshop: No refund is given unless you find a replacement. The €50 admin will still apply. To confirm your reason for not attending, an email notification is required. Leaving a workshop that has begun, for any reason, will not result in a refund.
The instructors reserve the right to cancel any workshop due to an inadequate number of participants making the workshop economically impracticable to run. In the event that a workshop is cancelled prior to the date stated, you will receive full refund of the cost of the workshop.
Responsibility:
The instructors will provide education, tips and advice during workshops.
They shall not be held responsible for:
(1) any loss or damage due to cancellation, delay, or disruption in any manner caused by the laws, regulations, acts or failures to act, demands, orders of any government, or by acts of nature, including strikes, fire, flood, war, terrorism, sickness, theft, or any other cause(s) beyond their control.
(2) Any damage to, or loss of, property or injury to, or death of, persons occasioned directly or indirectly by an act or omission of any other provider. The participant waives any claim against the instructors for any such loss, damage, injury, or death.
The instructors reserve the right in their sole discretion to accept, decline to accept, or remove any attendee on any photography workshop. The instructors reserve the right, without penalty, to make changes in the itinerary whenever, in their judgement, conditions warrants, or if they deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of participants.
You are personally responsible for being in sufficiently good health to undertake your chosen workshop.
